British comedian Paul Chowdhry is coming to Riyadh

The performer joins Riyadh Laughs on Friday, 1 December.

“What’s happening white people?” might sound like a controversial question. For comedian Paul Chowdhry, however, it has become a catchphrase and name for a show. The British Asian performer has made a career from his dry observational humour, which pokes fun at culture clashes. Now, he is coming to Saudi Arabia and will be joining Riyadh Laughs on 1 December.

Paul hails from London, England. In 1998, he started his stand-up career and appeared on the UK Channel Four show, Stand Up For The Week. He has appeared as a guest on the shows 8 Out of 10 Cats, Comedy World Cup, Mock the Week and Sorry, I Didn’t Know. He has also performed twice at Live At The Apollo, and sold out London’s Wembley Arena.

Riyadh Laughs takes place at Boulevard Riyadh City’s Muvi Cinemas, which is located in Hittin and is one of the largest cinemas in Saudi Arabia. The event hosts a line-up of local and international comedians, and brings together established as well as emerging talent. The shows take place weekly and are in Arabic and English.

Upcoming Riyadh Laughs shows include Maz Jobrani on 23 November, Ibrahim Al Hajjaj on 24 November, Shaker Al Sharif on 25 November, and Tiger on 30 November. Previous Arabic performers include Barakat Al-Asiri, Lama Al-Fard, Twab Adly, Shaker Al-Shareef and Ziyad Saleh. Previous English performers include Dana Alexander, Ken Garr and Julian Dean.

Tickets to see Paul Chowdhry in Riyadh are available via Platinumlist and start from SAR 151. Go on, have a laugh.
